The European style of osteopathy (also known as manual osteopathy profession) is not regulated in the Canadian province of Manitoba . As such there is yet no regulatory health association representing the profession in Manitoba . MOA is a voluntary non-regulatory organization set by the osteopathy profession.
The Manitoba Osteopathic Association develops and enforces its Standards of Practice, Policies and Guidelines on its members.
Standards of Practice outline the base requirements manual osteopaths must meet to demonstrate clinical competence and deliver quality health care services. Contravening or failing to maintain a standard of practice is an act of professional misconduct and may lead to disciplinary action against a member by MOA.
